Welcome

Welcome to the mini-site for the 2010 UCLU Stop AIDS Week Campaign.

'Stop AIDS 2010' is a campaign to involve the well-educated students of 'London's Global University' in the global effort to end HIV. The technology and medicines now exist to treat, prevent, and subsequently eradicate HIV, but this remains a long way away. We will examine why this has not happened, what may happen in the future, and what we as students can do to bring about and end to AIDS.

Browse through the days of Stop AIDS Week on the left to find out what we've got planned. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the week.

Stop AIDS Week 2010 is being organised by UCLU Medsin Society in association with other UCLU societies. We thank the UCL Grand Challenges, the UCL Friends Trust and UCL Union for helping to fund the week. We also thank the UCL Institue of Global Health for their help and expertise.

UPDATE: A brand new issue of the UCLU Medsin Global Health Magazine, 'Perspectives', is up online now. The theme of this issue is HIV and AIDS, to coincide with our Stop AIDS Campaign week. We delve into common HIV and AIDS myths, talk to Heidi Larson, Executive Director of aids2031, and review HIV policies and changing behaviours.
